    This is the book you have to read It is from the 1970s and it still tells hell a lot about life in large organizations Often you can see a reference to this book in articles on empowerment initiatives in management And very often the authors obviously haven t read this book at all otherwise they would not claim that empowerment as a structurally dependent phenomenon is their unique contribution Not even the chapter Contributions to theory I simply loved the part about roles managers, secretaries, house wives and also the whole analysis is vivid, connected to other research, analytically deep, combining ethnography with statistical evidence One can easily guess that this book is about as we now call it gender in workplace but it is even , it is about creating working environment where everyone can thrive, make contribution, ...
