    I felt like I needed to read this book because I, myself, have had a fascination with horses all my life Horses and dolphins, in fact, but that s another story Horses are very special animals in so many ways This book really reveals that And what sspecial about a book like this is showing how much we, as human beings, can learn from horses about ourselves as much as about them.One of my favorite books while growing up was Black Beauty In fact, it s one of the books on my reading list I felt like I needed to read this book because I, myself, have had a fascination with horses all my life Horses and dolphins, in fact, but that s another story Horses are very special animals in so many ways This book really reveals that And what sspecial about a book like this is showing how much we, as human beings, can learn from horses about ourselves as much as about them.One of my favorite books while growing up was Black Beauty In fact, it s one of the books on my reading list for The Books that made me Love Reading Challenge by Emlyn Chand I will be doing a review on that book very soon for that challenge, but for now I want to say that this book reminded me a lot of that book Backyard Horse Tales definitely has a reminiscent tone to that of Black Beauty.If you are an animal lover, you will especially love this book The biggest focus in it is the bond between Emma and the horse A story of the human will A narrative of trust and determination A story of utterly beautiful journey of faith A unique bond between a young girl and a beautiful horse I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who loves horses, anyone who is interested in knowing about the bonds between special animals and human beings, and absolutely anyone who is curious to learnabout the human spirit through the bond of an animal It s a very short read, definitely worth your time inthan one way

    My 8 year old daughter and I read this book together, and she contributed to a good share of this review We both agreed that this book was fantastic and deserved a 5 star rating.My daughter loved the fact that the author used correct horse terms She doesn t know a lot about horses, but she has had a chance to work with them here and there She enjoyed the story and retained the details of the story even when I got confused She would highly recommend this book to kids her age and even beyond My 8 year old daughter and I read this book together, and she contributed to a good share of this review We both agreed that this book was fantastic and deserved a 5 star rating.My daughter loved the fact that the author used correct horse terms She doesn t know a lot about horses, but she has had a chance to work with them here and there She enjoyed the story and retained the details of the story even when I got confused She would highly recommend this book to kids her age and even beyond She enjoyed the fact that the point of view went back and forth between horse and human My thoughts, as a parent, was that it was an engaging, well researched story I would compare it to Black Beauty in that most of the story was told from the point of view of the horse, Sox It is an easy to read book, and there is a lot of helpful information in the back of the book It is the perfect book for a parent to read out loud to his her child, and I think that it would appeal to children of all ages I also appreciated the fact that the author dealt briefly with issues of military parents and single parents.I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review I was not financially compensated for this review, and all opinions are 100 percent mine
