I loved loved this book It was so action packed The good vs evil aspect of the story was EPIC Lisa knows how to display spiritual warfare I have to admit even though I wanted to like Andriana’s and Ronan’s ongoing romance I thought it was kind of well stupid not written well shrinks back to avoid slaps from fangirls I know I know I just thought it was kinda stupid BUT I realized I might as well at least embrace it so it didn’t really bother me too bad while I was reading it just mainly now afterwardThe villains Pacifican soldiers Sethos Keallach the Sheolites etc WERE AWFUL I hated them so bad But I loved how much I hated them It was fun bahahahahaThe Remnants are so amazing I mean GOSH EVERY single character has a different “power” One is healing one of my personal favorites one is evil sensing and Andriana’s is EMOTION READING screams out loud like mad person They are kick butt like nobody’s business But really the characters and especially the development was great well written and just SO FANGIRL PROVOKINGThis book involved Biblical references and Scripture A LOT Which was supppperrr coolNow that I’ve kinda gotten my feels out now for the negative contentNEGATIVE CONTENTI have to say this book is not for the faint or sensitive in the stomach It’s pretty gory There’s lots of fighting wounds blood and surgery ALSO even though I’M sensitive to “creepy things” and demons and all that I’m very sensitive I was NOT BOTHERED by it at all Besides good always wins right? There are inappropriate references but honestly even though I’m strict with it apparently she wrote it well enough that it didn’t prick my conscienceWHO SHOULD READ IT Anyone mature or over the age of 12 who like Christian allegories fantasy or dystopianNOW ON TO MY SPOILER Y FEELS SPOILERS Why oh why Lisa must you rip my heart outThe scene with Keallach trying to control Andriana’s body to kiss him Hmm To describe my feelings Um Anger from Inside Out Yep The fire Yeah That was me Also Andriana’s time in Keallach’s castle in Pacifica were probably some of my favorite scenes in the whole book They were really cool Raniero being an angel?????? WHat????? I DID NOT see that coming I figured he did have SOME sort of power since he would just appear and disappear randomly and it seemed he always knew what A was thinking but STILL UNEXPECTED PLOT TWISTDiscussion uestions for those who have read the book What was one unexpected plot twist for you? While A was in Pacifica did you feel that Keallach and Andriana should marry? What do you think about the romance? Do you like it? SPOILERS END So that’s that I REALLY hope you enjoyed this review Let me know if you have read it or want to read this series By His GraceHalee

This was pretty good middle book for a trilogy But there was just something that didn’t grab me as the first one didWith her power of empathy now seemingly under control the Remnants continue their mission to free Kapriel Andriana and Ronan have shown their love for each other and now must make some hard decisions But things go array for them when Andriana gets captured by Keallach Emperor of Pacifica and his replaced Knight Sethos Andriana against all odds believes that Keallach can come back and follow the Maker’s plan But at some point she might have to choose between escaping from Keallach or falling into Sethos’s trap with himThe characters were great again I wanted Neiro and it didn’t seem I was going to get that but the end made up for it I missed Ronan in this book badly Though uiet a few times it switched to Ronan’s point of view and that was awesome The Remnants kind of faded to the background in this book It focused mainly on Andriana and Keallach Oh Keallach He was one of the most hardest characters to decide on whether I like him or not though that ending might have made up my mind I love and hate him at the same time Then I felt at times he was just a manipulated childThe plot was intense but I think it might have been lacking a little bit from something I’m not sure It started in the middle of an scene so it took awhile for me to get my bearings Then it felt rushed at the beginning and at the end The bad situations felt to easily gotten out of It was exciting and intenseSometimes the romance almost got inappropriate but it never went farther than intense kissing It lightly mentioned in conversation a few times some subject matter that isn’t appropriate for younger people It was a bit violent of course with some fighting scenesSo I really loved this and I’m recommending it to older teens and up It is a really good Christian dystopian trilogy and I can’t wait to see how it endsYou can check out this review on my blog too at Thanks

Can I take a moment and say just how awesome a writer Lisa is? I have enjoyed many of her novels but I have to say that this has been my favorite series by her thus far “Season of Fire” is filled with action starting from page one to the end However it’s not only the action that makes this a must read but the amazing spiritual messages woven throughout There were uite a few places I highlighted and had to reread so that it would sink in deep The one message that really struck me was that even if we don’t understand why God is directing our path through what feels a valley of shadow of death we simply have to trust Him That doesn't mean it will be easy but we have to believe in His greater plan Also with this I'm glad that Lisa shows the importance of having believers around you when the journey is hard so that together focus can be regained It was interesting getting to know Keallach and hearing of his story I’m still not uite sure of how I feel about him yet I did come to respect Dri in “Season of Fire” because she went through a lot of hardships on her own but didn’t cave in I loved being with her on this part of her journeyI definitely recommend this one to YA readers but I will forewarn that there are a few violent slightly bloody scenes Prepare yourself for an adventure that is going to leave you seeking your Maker and His truths I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review All thoughts expressed are my own and I was not reuired to write a positive review

Once again I’m drawn back to the YA genre with the second in Lisa T Bergren’s Remnants series and once again I’m reminded how the only YA I ever seem to embrace are when it’s dystopian or fantasy or if it’s written by Jody Hedlund ; But that’s okay because when I do I tend to love them and this one is no different Bergren’s Season of Fire kicks off right where we left off in the first and is action packed with plenty of awesomeness in betweenI love coming across excellent YA fiction that I’d be happy to pass along to teenagers but even so when it can be enjoyed by adults as well In Season of Fire I get to see all of my favorite Remnants and Knights – I kinda missed them Whether they’re fighting dark villains meeting new allies learning the pain of sacrifice for good or seeing the beauty that comes from the Maker this book will keep you hooked I really enjoyed the paths each take each of their personalities how they struggle how they fight and ultimately how they are made stronger Many of what our characters go through are what we deal with in real life Granted our enemies look a bit different but there’s still many things we can learn from Dri Ronan and crewI also love how Bergren is able to bring discussions about our purpose and the choices we make in life I won’t say much but with two specific characters this is done so fabulously Y’all just have to read it There’s plenty of battles twists and turns I didn’t see coming and oh the cliffhanger at the end I can’t wait for the final release early next yearAre you a big fan of series or of a one and done reader? If so what’s a recent one you’ve read?Thank you to BookLook Bloggers for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest reviewOriginally posted at

Season of Wonder by Lisa Bergren is a fantastic novel that broke ground for a new wave of YAChristian style literature and Season of Fire is a worthy seuel The action suspense and adventure is woven together so beautifully with spiritual messages that it just makes reading this series a joy to readWhat I love most is seeing how the characters rely so heavily on The Maker during their times of trial grief and pain There is so much that we can learn from this series and apply to our own livesIf you love the fantasy and adventure of YA novels but crave the spiritual feast that comes from Christian stories than this is definitely the series for you

Amazing simply amazing Just when I thought I had read the best from Lisa T Bergren she astounds me again Is it 2016 yet? Also this book made me cry real tears of joy which is rareFull ReviewI started this book with the lingering memory of the first book being wonderful I knew that this book would be so much I wasn't wrong and I wasn't disappointedIt was amazing I know I say this about a lot of books I read But truly I am amazed But this one is so much better—I think—than the first The stakes are higher the action is thicker and the purpose the goal the Call is greater Things are moving toward a bigger picture a fuller story arc and I can't wait to see what happens nextThe book is told in two first person POV narrations which differs from Book 1's single first person narration of Andriana This time we get a glimpse of Ronan's thoughts And I loved it While the dual POVs gave away that the characters would be separated from one another it didn't hinder the plot It enhanced it I was able to get another side to the story a deeper look into the knights' side of the team—the pull the urge to protect the gifted and to be near them to know they are safe It also made me appreciate Ronan for who he is not just who Andriana sees him asThe entire book flowed well nothing feeling out of place dragged out or unreasonable I loved learning about different gifts even Emperor Kellach’s terrifyingly power gift The book went fast because I was pulled into the story and the action trickled in slowly but came full forceAnd let me tell you about that ending wow Just wow I am amazed and my heart races that Lisa T Bergren would do this change the story in this way change this futuristic world in this wayI said this book made me cry tears of joy which is rare for me There were moments of pure joy pure wonder pure glory that had me wishing I could weep alongside these characters as they witnessed the power they held inside of them because of the MakerUnlike many YA trilogies that tend to start off well but fall shorter with each book this series has become better with the seuel and I can only hope for in the next book Season of Glory Is it 2016 yet?

Lisa T Bergren’s Remnants series is amazing She once again treats us to beautiful realms deep emotions and adventure that just doesn’t stop While I was reading it wasn’t unusual for me to get so lost in the world that there would be jolt when I had to come back to reality I want to say that I devour these books but honestly I think they devoured my mind I didn’t want the reading to end When I got to the last page and saw that the next book isn’t due out until 2016 I was unhappy to say the least I know Lisa and I understand how much she’s juggling but I really wish she could write faster These books are perfect for anyone who loves Divergent The Hunger Games or the Maze Runner In fact I have found the Remnants series surpasses these books in nearly every aspect Bergren has always been an incredible storyteller but the plot she’s put into place this time is breathtaking There’s always something happening that keeps the reader guessing and wondering what is around the next bend for these amazing characters There are very few areas where the pace slows Most often you’ll find yourself completely caught up in the adventure and frantically turning pages to see what’s next This is the kind of book that begs “just one chapter” and then leaves you flailing in the wee hours of the morning wondering what you’re supposed to do now that you’ve finished it I’m seriously unsure what I’m supposed to do with my time between now and 2016 I’ll probably be that annoying little fly buzzing around Lisa’s ear begging for news of the next book In all honesty I’ve never been disappointed by a book from Lisa Bergren and I can’t recommend them highly enough for anyone who loves books She’s a favorite and has earned her well deserved spot on my list of favorite authors
