Never Say Die is the third book in the Nick Harland series and I would really recommend that you read the first two books in the series so that you can fully enjoy the third oneAfter reading Nemesis the second in the series I was really intrigued as to what the author had in store for us in the third book and I have to say I certainly was not disappointedIf anything I was really surprised with Never Say Die it is jam packed full of action with a storyline that involves prostitutes Russian Mafia MI5 and to top it all off an ex SAS soldier gone madNick Harland really has his work cut out this time Luckily for him he has his ever faithful partner Anna by his side and long standing friend George to rely on to help him outI must admit to finding some parts of this book a bit far fetched yet saying that I loved all of it The author really just goes into this story with both guns blazing and makes for a truly enjoyable ride for the reader There is even a surprising turn of events towards the end which I did not see coming at all and it has now left me eagerly waiting for the fourth in the seriesA great crime series that I can highly recommend

Mix brilliant skillful and deranged and you get Steve Dark and he is on a mission that gets him into the chambers of someone very important Nick Harland is on the job Somewhere else a man walks out of the hospital with no memory of who he is Lives will be lost some may never be found Suspenseful and fast paced

I did finish the novel however I found it hard to concentrate on it and I confess to skipping whole sentences I found the main character to be a complete oddball; part of this was because he spoke in so much Cockney rhyming slang which would have been easier had I discovered the glossary BEFORE I finished the book The other part was frankly due to the fact that Nick Harland reminded me of all the hard boiled detectives from the 50s not a man of the 21st century I didn't like him much I preferred the anonymous because of amnesia character named Jim partly through the novel He was much sympathetic; although he may not be had I read books 1 andor 2 before reading book 3

I have previously read Nemesis by Bill and so am already a fan of his work I have to say I am not disappointed I do love an action suspense thrillerBill has a way of creating strong not to be messed with characters that do not put up with anything Nick Harland and Andy Ryan are exactly that We follow them across London trying to trace an ex SAS soldier that is out for revenge You also follow another story which intertwines with the main plot A man is on the run from a gun battle but seems to be suffering with amnesia Who is he? Why is he running? I liked how both stories collided and danced around each other it made the read excitingI think at times I had a few uestions that went unanswered but on the whole a great read I am not drawn to the books cover but again this is personal preference If you like action and suspense with lots of twists and turns then you have come to the right book I loved that it is set in London and the action is taking part of streets I know having the location close to home gave me an extra connectionIf you are hot on your grammar etc then you will notice a few glitches but I felt this did not detract from my reading enjoymentA great read with plenty going on A few big characters that take you on a chase with a climactic ending

As an avid Doyle reader and NCIS watcher not to mention the BBC's MI5 starring Richard Armitage I love mysteries set around a lot of action and suspense Never Say Die by Bill Carson delivers a whole lot of suspense and danger within these pagesNick Harland is a likable character Andy I could go either way This is not really a character driven story but rather a plot driven story I mean that as a compliment Rarely can you find a great spy novel driven by plot than by the spies themselves Carson wrote a great thriller with interesting components not usually seen together in the same bookThe reader is enthralled and intrigued by the mysterious man who has no memory The reader is appalled yet can't help but be sympathetic to Steve Dark the assassin gone rogue And you certainly will wonder what on Earth one has to do with the other A great mystery keeps you guessing and o your toes and Never Say Die does just thatA great plot well written with enough mystery and action to keep you reading well into the night make Mr Carson a writer you HAVE to check out45 a page turner
