Original Blog Post Book Spotlight eARC Review Excerpt #Giveaway Rise of the Lost Prince Lost Boys #1 by London Saint JamesReview by RamonaMy Rating 45 out of 5 StarsWith a series title like Lost Boys I should have expected that London St James had turned Peter Pan into an adult version in the Rise of the Lost Prince The names Petúr and Wyndi are in the blurb so it's not like I should have missed that inference at all However I've read rewrites that are slapstick adaptations and that started me off rather nervous with this story Petúr isn't exactly human and neither are his brothers in arms the Lost Boys What they are really they don't know The superpowers they posses have made them outcasts among the normal humans despite the fact that they don't hurt anyone and simply want to be left alone Street kids loners rejects they've banded together in order to survive and protect themselves Apart from their extraordinary talents think X mencomic book superhero they know they belong together because of one strange similarity none of them can remember having a family a home or a birthplace It's like they were brought into the world as children instead of babies All of them long to know their origin but how to go about doing so?Wyndi like her children's story counterpart is fully human Yet despite her instant attraction to Petúr under dangerous circumstances she knows she's met him before in her dreams literally Hidden under the tough guardian exterior is the playful little boy who's visited her dreams and kept her company in her lonely childhood Apart from that tenuous connection why is there an undeniable pull and link between them? The Darklings have always been out to destroy the Boys another thing they don't know the reason why What vendetta lies between them and their kind? Most inexplicable of all is that they've set their sights on Wyndi And that has Petúr very very angry With an unexpected mix of Fae mythology and British bedtime story although it's not that farfetchedmoments to think of it Peter Pan gets a new breath of life with a really big twist Most of the main characters are here from Tinkerbell to Captain Hook if in new personas after about a hundred years This introduction is a lot of fun with a ton of well written fight scenes lots of hot and steamy encounters and uber sexy grown lost boys Adult fairy tale it is in ways than one Seamlessly woven into modern life full of tech and contemporary counterparts like frat kids there wouldn't be a better way to spend a lazy weekend than with the Rise of the Lost Prince Even if London St James wrote it with the expected cliffhanger it being a series after all it's not one that would leave you frustrated at how the novel ended It's a very satisfying conclusion that will still keep you looking out for the next book in the Lost Boys series

I was so excited to have won this book in a drawing from London Saint James The tale of Peter Pan has long been a favorite and it is certainly a significant part of childhood for manyIn this story the author has brought the familiar tale into a contemporary urban fantasy setting Peter is Petúr a very much adult lost prince of the Fae who has forgotten who he is due to the politics of his homeland Wendy is Wyndi a young woman who is his fated mate who lives in Oceanport She's the daughter of Mr Darlingheart making her Wyndi Darlingheart Tinkerbell is Bell a bartender and one who is also from the land of the Fae and the one who knows the whole story and who can bring the Lost Prince and the Lost Boys back to a knowledge of who they areThough some aspects of this updating and rearranging of this classic story are perhaps a bit of a stretch it is an engaging tale that envelops Fairyland Neverland that part was funny and particularly apt and the powerful protection of a group of lost boys who are in fact handsome engaging men with a purposeThere are also Bad Guys Scary scary bad guys Bad guys that Wyndi has to learn to fight even as she falls in love with Petúr The romance is hot but moves with supernatural speed in my opinion I would have liked to have build up to feelings and all that THOUGH I do enjoy a compelled relationship and predestined mates as much as the next girlThis is apparently the first book in a series I think I want to read because I want to get to know the Lost Boys Dash Vibe Firefox Tera and Byte No marbles were lost but these guys are hot enough to melt glass I'm thinking ; 35 stars rounded up to four for the purposes of the rating system

Can I just say that I'm in love with the narrator's voice I'm sure I must have said it before but he has such a deep seductive uality in his voice that transports you to each scene as he narrates the story whether it is an action scene or love scene I have to confess that I prefer to listen to this author's audio books just so I can listen to John Thrust's narrationAs for the story London has given us a dark paranormal romance in this retelling of Peter Pan and Neverland I can tell you this is not the Peter Pan you read as a child These lost boys are very grown up if you catch my drift and they each have hidden super powers which they use to fight the darklings They kind of reminded me of the x men Petur doesn't know his full heritage and Grapple the Dark wants to prevent him from ever taking to the throne and to achieve his aims he needs WyndiThere's a lot going on here and we get to told the story from different perspectives so you get to understand each character and their motivations If you enjoy action suspense and dark paranormal romance then you should enjoy this one Audio books are so easy to listen to You can do it while doing other things I'm looking forward to the next book in the series45 Lovebites

Confession timealthough I've been cyber buds with London for some time now this was the first title of her's I've read shame face I'll blame that on my own writing marketing and children Just don't have enough time to read these daysBut anyhoo Onto the yummiesLondon blew me away Nothing better than reading a 'new author' and loving the voice and style so much that you're searching for the next title within minutesRise of the Lost Prince is dark gritty hot and all together WAY TOO SHORT This is one of those tales you want to delve into for days on end You're so caught up that you see smell and feel what the characters do Your children whine in the backgroundbut do you hear them? Nope Hubs watches Pawn Stars or American Pickers while you're devouring sentence after sentence but do you hear the hum of the TV? Nope Loved loved loved this book and I can't wait for the next one Well done London

I was given the opportunity to listen to Rise of the Lost Prince by London Saint James I don't often listen to audio books I'm not sure why because they're a pretty awesome alternative when you're running short on time to sit and read I've been wanting to read this one too The teaser and blurb had captured my attention So I jumped at the chance I downloaded the book to my audible app and my adventure beganLondon has created a dark and rich world here I love the inspiration she used from Peter Pan The story was familiar in that way but all together different She really gives you something to sink into I was already a fan of London's writing voice and she delivers on this one as well The suspense is gripping and the evil is terrible Also the passion between Petúr and Wyndi is uite exuisite I can definitely recommend Rise of the Dark Prince to those who enjoy fantasy I'm anxious for the next book in the series
