Exactly a year ago I read the first book in this series Girl on the Half Shell and I was immediately mesmerized with this storyChrissie Parker daughter of famous musician Jack Parker is a confused spoiled prep school girl when we first meet her She falls hopelessly in love with rock superstar Alan Manzone and messes up her life royally along the wayThe books follow Chrissie in her life and endless pursuits of love and affection She goes to college believes she falls in love with Neil Stanton but can never shake the draw she has to Alan ManzoneAlan is magnetic his energy palpable through the pages of especially this book He loves Chrissie She pushes and he pulls and vice versa Despite their long laundry list of issues and shortcomings as a couple he's a manwhore and she's a mess I have pulled for these two from the beginningTHIS final book is the most beautiful of all four Poetic romantic lustful and painful WARD weaves the rest of this story through the reader's heart I don't like Neil and I continue not to like him throughout this book YES some readers will feel empathy toward him I don'tI do love where Chrissie goes in this story and the family connections woven throughout including the birth of her daughterI REFUSE to give spoilers but I thought the ending was exactly what is should be and the EPILOGUE left me with a long list of wishes and dreams for Chrissie AND I 'm pretty sure they will be answered in the spin off series with KaleyTHIS IS a must read series I adore each book 6 stars for the ending

uite an action packed ending to the four book series during which my allegiances definitely shifted from Neil to Alan Two big secrets are revealed which I did not see coming but Chrissie finally gets her HEA in the end A fitting finale although the family’s story doesn’t end here yay

Here I go again trying to write a review for one of Susan's books By now everyone knows I'm totally in love with her books All I can say about this book is WOW It's difficult to write the perfect words to describe how this book made me feel besides emotionally messy in a fabulous way I hung on to every word in this book every emotion as if I were living it Susan's books do that to me they transport me to a different world It's like she's inside my head sometimes It's so raw and real and yet so perfect in Chrissie world I loved how the story progressed developing throughout the years until Chrissie finds her happiness Seeing her figure out her life work with music made me smile Yes I totally smiled while reading this book I also cringed in some parts felt heartbroken and was excited for these characters It was an odd combination and I had to uestion myself at times To finally see Chrissie assess her life and what she truly wants without letting her mind get in the way was wonderful I felt for Neil but Alan is Alan No one compares especially when it comes to Chrissie To see the tug of emotions the friendships the love bloom is beautiful This book has a few twists; some I knew already others were new to meOf course I loved how Affair Without End Series collides with this book and SO happy to read a bit of that in this installment The best word for me to describe this book and series is perfection It's flawless in it's own way It's real and beautiful It's what true romance is about chaotic messy and so real it's raw So honest that you forget you're reading about fictional characters and take a moment to reflect on your own life I cannot wait to read The Sand and Fog series to learn about Kaley and her life

I couldn't have prepared myself for a gripping finaleWowsa  I started this last night and fell asleep at 2am with 15% to go  Woke up at 6am and had to finish  Susan was right when she commented about wanting to throw my Kindle at some point  But how could I expect anything less from this epic journey of love pain regrets and self discovery? The Girl in the Comfortable uiet ends the saga of Chrissie Neil and Alan in a most arresting fashion  If I thought for once things could be easy for Chrissie I was sorely mistaken hence wanting to throw my Kindle  Though Neil and Alan do have a huge presence in this book Chrissie is the voice of the series and what a heart wrenching journey this has been  Huge discoveries happen in this book  HUGE  Seriously heart wrenching  I can't even formulate a non spoilery sentence regarding what she goes through  Just know through all her self doubts and self preservation decisions made and certain paths traveled this story had to unfold the way it did  It leaves no room for second guessing the outcome and ends it sweetly And I loved every minute of it

Wow Just Wow This final installment in 'The Girl on the Half Shell' freaking blew me away It all comes full circle and a roller coaster ride of gigantic proportions I loved Chrissy in this book I loved how much she had grown emotionally and though she still has some hang ups she finally went after what she wanted and the hell with everyone else Loved her concert Loved her message to Neil and the way it was delivered The author did a fantastic job of keeping me on the edge of my seat She impressed me with her knowledge of the recording industry the politics the PR and the lengths those involved will go to in order to remain on top Look forward to from Susan Ward

Oh dear I sit here after reading all night and barely making into work today and I am so overwhelm with all the emotions book #4 arised in me I was happy for Chrissie as she enjoyed her pregnancy and marriage to Neil Annoyed when Neil started acting so weird Cautious when Alan suddenly appeared out of the blue Shocked to my core when the truth about Neil came out Angst when Chrissie's life spiral out of control again And not surprised and really wishing deep deep inside me since the beginning that Kaley was his daughter And now I feel sort of empty and lostThere was a lot that was left unexplained in this story so many loose ends to tie up I NEED ANSWERS I WANT MY ANSWERS I AM HAVING A HISSY FIT HEREI need to know about Jack and Linda I need to know what Jesse's the journalist role was I want to hate Renee even for being such a lousy and selfish friend I want Kaley to know who her real father is Nonetheless I still care for Neil and need to know he is ok It's funny I started not liking Alan Manzone and Chrissie to much at the beginning in book #1 and know I am craving to learn about themjust like in real life you should never judge a book series by it's first installmentalways read the full story

  9. Michelle Quintana Michelle Quintana says:

This book was so frustrating or should I say Chrissie was frustrating I kind of had a feeling what it is that Neil must have done to be so bad to make Chrissie leave I just wasn't expecting her to find out the way she did I don't think anything Chrissie could have done would have changed things but she was something else in the way she would treat Neil She was in such denial of reality and what her true feelings were for both Neil and Alan I also was not expecting the way Chrissie found out about Jack and Linda and she had every right to react the way she did Linda was the one who was in the wrong for she said and did and I wished that Jack could have witnessed how Linda had treated his daughter What can I say about Renee I believe that she is jealous of Chrissie and treats her the way that she does She doesn't really have Chrissie's best interest at heart That was evident in what she did to her The ending to this series didn't answer anything It just left me with uestions about how certain things turned out I just hope the spin offs will clear up a few things

What can I say about this book except that it was the perfect ending to the Chrissie and Manny saga that actually wasn't an endingI adored this series for every reason imaginable but mostly because the characters were realistic and imperfect and their love was something most people dream ofbut it's a long difficult road I was sad to finish this series but elated when I read Broke Crown because the story continued and then came to a wonderful conclusion Keep reading peeps Susan Ward nailed it with this rock star romance saga and the Sand and Fog series is every bit as awesome
