Practical Advice an audio reviewThis was a very interesting book to listen to I have several people who engage in passiveaggressive behavior in my life so that spoke to me What really interested me however was finding some similarities in the behavior myself and that shamed me I never considered I might be manipulating people – and I didn’t mean to do it – but I can think of several instances where I saw myself described in this bookSo what am I going to do about it? Along with a great section about how to identify the behavior there are some great suggestions of how to modify behavior Sometimes having ‘meditating’ as a suggestion sounds silly but the author suggests that decreasing stress through meditation would be a good thing I could see how taking a few minutes to center myself before interacting with someone who is frustrating me would be a good thing As well as meditation there were other coping skills mentioned all of which were worth a second lookAs for myself I think the most useful suggestion was attacking my penchant for procrastination I don’t mean to do it – I just take on than I can actually accomplish and then miss deadlines Sometimes those misses really hurt people even if it wasn’t my intention The author suggests being realistic about what I can do and what I can’t and being honest Not promising I can do something when it’s clear I won’t be able to Addressing potential missed deadlines long before they actually happen Being proactive instead of reactiveFinally the author suggests trying to surround myself with positive people This is good in theory but you can’t pick your family You can decide how you interact with them however and I tend to avoid the negative family members unless seeing them is necessary I also try to be a positive person myself so as to attract like peopleOverall for such a short book there is lots of great advice Margaret Brown’s book is well worth the listen Jeff Moon as narrator did a great job He was authoritative but also relatable very pleasant to listen to I recommend this book

This was a little bit helpfula little bit notIt was too short to go inot detailbut maybe just enough to lead someone to the right directionSome of the advice just seemed laughableNarration was ok but sometimes wordsespecially the first word or 2 of a sentence was repeated by Mr MoonI was given this book by the narratorauthor or publisher free for an honest review
