In Justice in Savannah by Hope Callaghan Carlita Carlucci and her daughter Mercedes have gotten everything ready to open their pawn shop except that the city has been dragging its feet on issuing them their business license Determining to picket City Hall Mercedes rounds up all their neighbor friends and gets the news station to cover them causing the mayor to demand an explanation for the delay from the administrator in charge of permits The man stammers that he can't issue a permit without serious further investigation because he received an anonymous letter accusing Carlita of leading a drug ring from her home The next day Carlita discovers that someone has destroyed the ceramic statue in her courtyard which begins a series of vandalism events in their neighborhood These appear to be related to the effort to uash their pawn shop permit but who is behind all these actions?Read the rest of this review and other fun geeky articles at Fangirl Nation

This is the first I've read by this author but it won't be the last It comes across as small town or cohesive neighborhood working together to help new neighbors against local bureaucracy Then the vandalism begins and must be investigated and stopped Good writing and engaging characters make this a 5 star readValerie Gilbert really shines as narrator with her ability to make each character distinct and project the emotions

I enjoyed this Made in Savannah Cozy Mysteries book #3 It was a bit slower and not uite the page turner as the first but still a cute book I listened to the audiobook and Valerie Gilbert the narrator just makes this book and this series She does a phenomenal job Five starts to her

I loved this series It was a fast paced cute entertaining story Of course as I've said in my previous reviews for this series I've listened to the audiobook versions and love Valerie Gilbert She's a great narrator I did have two uestions though1 Prior to Elvira getting the approval to move in how was she able to get the power and water put in her name? Especially without having a copy of the rental agreement for the powerwater companies which you typically need?2 I never understood why Carlita thought the little girl forgot her name screaming the one night was that big of a deal? The first uestion that seemed to pop into her head had her wondering if the child was being abused by her motherOther than that I can't wait to listen to book 4 D
