See of my reviews at wwwbookaddicthavencomThe second book in the series 'A Harmless Little Ruse' is told from Drew's POV I have to say it worked for me After the first book I had a lot of lingering doubts about his sincerity Seeing things from his perspective really put my fears to restAs Lindsay's father makes his intention to run for President official Lindsay's attackers up their game The text messages are freuent and increasingly threatening One of her attackers is even so brazen as to show up at an event of her father's Whoever is pulling the strings continues to be above the law and remains an unknownWhile any uestions I had about Drew's loyalty to Lindsay were answered in this book my hatred for her parents only increased Lindsay's parents have got to be some of the worst parents in history Just when I think they may have a shred of human decency or compassion for their own daughter their self serving behaviors surface again They have to be two of the most selfish cold hearted characters that I've ever crossed Their treatment of their daughter is inexcusable In my opinion they deserve to suffer the same fate as the attackers They're just vileAlthough I didn't feel like much progress was made toward catching Lindsay's attackers in this book there were a few big reveals and twists that made this a worthwhile read Drew hasn't been fully forthcoming about the night of the attack He has a secret and it is a huge one When it comes to light I was forced to reevaluate all of the judgments I had made about Drew and his previous treatment of Lindsay I have to say I didn't see it comingThis book also has Drew and Lindsay coming together as a couple again In spite of the fact that her parent's ultimately fire Drew and prohibit Lindsay from seeing him they are solid It may take some sneaking around but they are finally on the same page and working together to bring down the rapistsThere are several twists and turns this time around I have laid some doubts to rest only to have new ones surface Aside from Lindsay and Drew I'm not sure who can be trusted Overall I thought that this book was an improvement over the first book There were still some plot holes and details that just didn't make sense to me However I didn't find them to be incredibly distracting or overwhelming like they were in the first bookNot surprisingly this book ends with a huge cliffhanger That ending Argh I'll have to wait for the final book to see what happens Luckily it is expected out by mid December I will certainly be picking up a copy to see how things work out for Lindsay and Drew Let it be known that if they don't get some justice I will not be happy

Rarely do I do a DNF never mind that I've read booksseries far maddening than Harmless still I can't uite overlook the plot holes and shallow characterization of both Lindsay and Drew Having read the first book A Harmless Little Game I hoped to continue eager to know how Lindsay would enact vengeanceview spoiler on those responsible for raping her More likely I had hopes of her inflicting death by dismemberment on one or two of her assailants hide spoiler

I gave this 5 stars because I'm still trying to figure things out Therefore the author was successful in stumping me Although I've kind of figured out a few things I uestion if I'm any closer to solving mystery Who is the master puppeteer? This installment was told exclusively from Drew's POV and I couldn't be grateful because from time to time Lindsay really got on my nerves I had of an appreciation of her character when viewed from his perspectiveSome of my uestions were definitely answered in this book such as Drew's trust as to what happened the night that Lindsay was attacked but now I need so many answers Everyone's a suspect and with the way this book ended I have absolutely no clue who to trust or what will happen nextI need A Harmless Little Plan ASAP December 13th seems so freaking far away Ah well at least that day will be a very happy birthday for me lol An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review

5 Stars This one was told in Drew's POV and it was just as intense or even a little than book 1 As the story progresses we start to understand and learn about what is going on and what is behind it Lindsay is so strong and for the most part smart but occasionally she will think or say something that made me think she was a little ditsy Drew has grown on me and I really like him but I do understand why Lindsay is hesitant to trust him If I were her I wouldn't trust anyoneI am keeping these reviews vague as I don't want to give anything away There are so many secrets lies twists and turns that saying anything would give too much away What I can say is that the writing plot and characters are fantastic If you like your romance mixed with some suspense and a little mystery then you should definitely add this trilogy to your tbr pile

This is book two of a three part series and while I don't uite know the who and what of it I'm enjoying the journey to finding out Book two is told from Drew's point of view What our heroine went through was traumatic in book one but our hero has not gone unsuffered Goodreads is trying to tell me that's not an actual word but I like it There are some revelations as to what Drew went through but not many details The story doesn't move along very fast at first but then it starts to change the plot's direction So much so that it builds anticipation There's not a whole lot of romance between the MCs which I would've liked but there is the consistent theme of second chance love I have some ideas as to who might be involved but I am looking forward to unraveling the mystery in the third book Safety It is confirmed that Drew slept with OW during their separation Big time yes to rape and abuse ARC received in exchange for an honest review

🌟🌟🌟🌟 STARSSo here we have the second instalment A harmless Little Ruse Harmless #2 By Meli RaineI read this immediately upon finishing book one I was that gripped by this storyThis begins directly where the first one ends and unlike the previous tale is told from Drew's POVThis was a major plus point for me for as I believe I mentioned in my previous review that even though I liked Lindsay there were certain times I still found myself getting slightly irritated at the girl's choicesSo I found this a complete breath of fresh air in contrast and we also get the added bonus of understanding Drew much Drew is brought fully into the spotlight here and we get to witness his inner thought process and understand in depth the events of four years agoIf I had to pick a favourite out of these two rating them both four stars this would so be itI found Lindsay Doubly irritating in A Harmless little Ruse as she seemed to be blowing hot and cold throughoutI also struggled with how she wasn't telling her parents to piss off in regards to her relationship with DrewShe's a bloody twenty three year old Adult woman for christ sakeCan't believe she let them paint him in such a bad light with the media eitherShaking my head in disbelief here girlfriend what were you thinking he loves you so muchAs for Drew what I learned well all I can say heartbreakingSo This gets four stars all on the merits of Drew who I absolutely adoreLindsay herself can go suck eggs I'm hoping she is able to redeem herself in book threeI am crossing my fingers in hope but not holding my breath considering her past behaviour your free pass from me has now expired my girl get with the programSo this ended on such a cliffhanger yet again and I so need to fast forward to see if the bad guys get there comeuppance in spadeseverything I can cross is crossed hereWell on to book three for the conclusion to this addictive trilogy Reviewed By Beckie Bookwormhttpswwwfacebookcombeckiebookwormwwwbeckiebookwormcom

Book two starts off where book one ended This installment is all in Drew's POV and we find out heartbreaking details about what went on that night four years earlier I had a suspicion at the direction this author was going in regards to what happened to Drew and unfortunately I was correct Not unfortunately as in it was bad writing but the fact that scenario is a trigger for me and it would have been nice to have gotten a heads up in the blurb Just me 2centsThat aside things are heating up with a lot of twists and turns and I have NO clue who to trust or who is behind all this I will say this there certainly seems to be an awful lot of videos hanging around of what happened that night and it's stretching the whole believability thing a bit thin Still I am intrigued enough to be moving on to book three

  8. Radd Reader Radd Reader says:

Drew and Lindsay Book 2 from Drew’s POV Must read Book 1 from Lindsay’s POV Ends with a cliffhangerThis book picks up where the previous one left off Drew has been keeping a secret from Lindsay about what happened “that” night and the big reveal comes at the end of the book Lots of buildup to get to the point where the truth is revealed There were some hints leading up to it so the reader had a good idea and it was pretty heartbreaking to know what else Drew had to suffer through This book didn’t move along as well for me It felt slow in places and it was frustrating to see the bad guys always a step ahead I was really hoping that Drew and Lindsay could start to implement some type of revenge plan Instead I just felt like they kept ending up the victims and I didn’t want that for them As far as the intrigue goes it’s a mystery who is really pulling the strings I have someone in mind but I could be wrong One thing is clear I really really hate Blaine Stellan and John There was some interaction with Blaine in this book as he is the one in politics and it was enough to solidify he’s a monster and I want him to suffer at some point Still not a fan of Lindsay’s parents and by the end of the book I didn’t feel like anyone was in Drew and Lindsay’s corner I’ll continue on with Book 3 and I’m really hoping that the puppet master and his little minions suffer some dastardly deeds and get what they so richly deserve

Omg omg omg deep breath Okay I've just finished LOVED the beginning This book was super strategic to be told from Drew's POV I also really liked the ending but found the middle to be a little lacklustre in comparison to the first book and the events in other stages of this story However Meli writes one hell of a hook and an even better cliffhanger My one grievance from book one was that I wasn't sold on the relationship aspect between these two but wow I'm buying it hook line and sinker Okay enough of that Onto book number three
