This was a sweet book of short stories but for some reason it took me forever to finish It was like that relationship that’s good on paper but just doesn’t have you giddyI was just not that into it But lots of endearing moments bits of advice on mothering grief relationships I especially liked the story about the couple mixing their Catholic and Jewish faiths Also the stories regarding parentingThis paragraph really touched me From an “open letter to my son”“Soon we’ll know how well I’ve taught you and how much you have learned It’s a strange thing this growing up Knowing it has to happen doesn’t lighten the heaviness—or excitement—in my heart I don’t know whether to cry or clap” That double feeling of terror and elated at the same time is how I feel as a parent every day Well writtenMaybe it’s the season but for some reason it’s just on for me But give it a try

This author tells her story of leaving Cuba growing up in America falling in love losing that love and finding a new one It's a uick read 6 short stories but a nice pick me up if you're feeling a little low I particularly enjoyed the description of trying on bathing suits in a dressing room
