A great compilation of some of the best weird Americana that the upper Midwest has to offer Some of the info is out of date not the author's fault given the ever changing nature of the beast but it was good to read about some attractions I'd never heard of Not an easy feat as I'm a road tripper from Wisconsin and the upper Midwest is kind of my wheelhouse Short histories of each attraction made each 1 2 page entry interesting without reading like a guide book A bit heavy on the Minnesota section but what do you expect the author's from Minneapolis Plus I'll admit it MN has some GREAT oddities This book probably isn't for everyone but it was definitely for me

With soaring gas prices vacationers may be staying closer to home Need some ideas that are a little bit different? How about the Spam Museum in Minnesota or South Dakota’s Outhouse Museum? Dregni has compiled a directory of the biggest smallest oddest and most mysterious attractions of the Midwest
